Through UBUNTU 2025, we now have a way of insuring that our countries resources are equally shared among all the people, that finance reaches all, that we are all put at work, that housing, savings, education and healthcare are accessible to all and more, so that we can play the important role that is ours, of motors of true development. Now that we also all agree, the UN ahead, of role of micro finance in improving people lives and the center role that people can play in the development of developing countries through small village based enterprises, which are at the foundation of UBUNTU2025, it therefore only remains to insure that we all and each do the small part that is required from us in order to create a prosperous Africa.
The call by the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, for small loans to millions of people with unmet borrowing needs at the symposium of experts in Geneva on the 10th of November 2005 is clear. He was speaking in these terms:
<With the innovation of micro-financing, there is a now a powerful way to help many millions around the world finance their small business ventures, improve their homes, and come back after a natural disaster, but institutions will need to do their part in order reach the people in need. Where once the poor were commonly seen as passive victims, micro finance recognizes that the poor people are remarkable reservoirs of energy and knowledg>.
Wars in Africa, sicknesses and other abuses are there because poor people are weak in all aspects of the term; their voices do not count. People of Africa, today is your independence day and you are going to take back your power and your voice, you are going to wake up and brake the circle of dependence to systems that do not deliver because they have failed to put you at the right place, which is at the center of the development process, and they have also failed to focus on your empowerment to achieve true development.
From now on, when someone asks you for your vote or detains already a parcel of power, ask him/her where does he/she stand with regards to the people's program. How much money is he/she going to provide or help provide for loans to families and individuals? How many schools from your program to provide free education and free nutrition to learners will he/she help build? Etc. Meaning that you want to know how important will he/she be for you, for the people, so that we can start counting to know how far we are to the total.
Now you have it, a clear program for your thoughts, so that when a person asks for your vote or is already in power, after dealing with your needs, coming to your foreign policy with regards to Africa, please ask him/her where does he/she stand with regards to UBUNTU 2025? How many loans, how much money; how many schools from your program is he/she going to provide or help provide? Etc. Say No for millions and billions of dollars that go missing in high spheres in Africa and do not filter to the ground to the people; No for the billions that are used for buying condoms to combat HIV. Like in your countries, the prevention and the handling of HIV is in strong and stable families with strong values, it is in the education in schools, it is in a good nutrition, it is in empowering mothers and women, it is access to medicine, it is in finance, it is in empowering millions of poor people, all of which is well captured in your program, UBUNTU2025.
